You can schedule service to start at a new residence up to 60 days in advance, if PG&E has provided gas or electric service to the residence in the past. Go to Start or Stop Service and follow the steps to schedule your service start.
If the residence is a newly constructed location for which you'll be the first occupant, then the builder and PG&E need to complete several steps before you can submit a Start Service request:
- The electric panel (if applicable) needs to be installed and inspected
- City or County building permit requirements need to be completed
- The PG&E meters need to be installed and connected to the PG&E system
At that point you can schedule service to start, up to 60 days in advance, at Start or Stop Service.
If you are still in the construction process and want to bring in PG&E to begin setting up gas and electric connections to your future residence, the steps required are outlined in our Building and Renovation section.
