Our goal is to minimize impacts to our customers as much as possible. To that end, rotating outages, also known as rolling blackouts, are designed to last approximately one hour per group of customers. Once we initiate the second block of outages, we simultaneously begin restoring the first block that was shutoff (de-energized). This rotating pattern continues until the system event ends, and the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) directs us to restore all customers' power.
