Our goal is to minimize impacts to our customers as much as possible. To that end, rotating outages, also known as rolling blackouts, are designed to last approximately 1 hour per group of customers. Once we initiate the second block of outages, we simultaneously begin restoring the first block that was shutoff (de-energized). This rotating pattern continues until the system event ends, and the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) directs us to restore all customers' power.
