Some of the cons of an Enhanced Power Line Safety Setting (EPSS) are more frequent, longer-duration power outages as PG&E crews must patrol the entire circuit to ensure no damage or hazards are present.
If your power is interrupted, you can expect:
- Outages with increased duration due to the need to ensure the entire circuit is safe
- Additional resources needed to support patrol and restoration
- Our crews will perform any repairs needed prior to restoring power
Terms also used to refer to Enhanced Power Line Safety Settings are Fast Trip, Fast Trip Settings, and Hot Line Tags.
