PG&E has identified approximately 10,000 circuit miles out of 25,000 total distribution circuit miles located within areas with heightened fire threats to receive this enhanced safety measure, based on an increased wildfire risk.
Enhanced Power Line Safety Settings (EPSS) are being enabled for 178 identified High Focus circuits and segments in High Fire Threat Districts (HFTD).
Terms also used to refer to Enhanced Power Line Safety Settings are Fast Trip, Fast Trip Settings, and Hot Line Tags.
