You can call PG&E on behalf of a family member if you are added to the account. If not, PG&E can only provide very limited information if you know the full name and last 4 digits of the account holders Social Security number.
To get added to an account, have the account holder call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000 and request to add a person. Once the main customer has authorized adding you to the account, you can call in (you do not need to be with the customer) and we will complete the process of adding you to the account. Please be aware that being added to the account may require us to run a soft credit screen to verify your identity. This process will not affect your credit.
If the customer of record is unable to call, they may send written authorization requesting to add another person to their account.

- New person's phone number
- New person's mailing address
- COR signature
- Mailing Address
- Pacific Gas and Electric Company
- Correspondence Management Center
- PO Box 997310
- Sacramento, CA 95899-7310
Once the letter is received the secondary person may be added to the account by contacting PG&E and completing the authentication process.
