If the business name changed but still has the same Tax Identification Number (TIN), you will need to fill out the IRS form IRS 147C or 252C before contacting PG&E. You can find the forms by going to the IRS website www.irs.gov.
This form will indicate that the business name has changed, but the Federal TIN has remained the same.
If the business name is the same/or changed, but there is a different TIN, the new party will need to start a new commercial service with a new account number.

Note: You will need to have your business’ information available to start service, such as:
- Business name
- Tax ID number
- Contact information for billing issues
