In order to change your rate from residential to commercial you need to have the following:
- Must demonstrate that 51% or more of the annual energy use in the home is for commercial end use
- PG&E is required to request documentation from customers to verify eligibility for a business rate, such as business licenses, permits, building permit, or other information required to confirm that you qualify for this rate at a residential premise
- Permits are required from your local jurisdictions for commercial operations and products
- Please make sure you have all necessary permits needed to operate your business as PG&E may be required to terminate service if notified by a government agency that your operations are unsafe or out of compliance with any laws, local ordinances, or permit requirements
